This patient presented with a heavily filled 46 and the 47 had been extracted, it was decided that the 46 could not be restored using conventional crown and bridge techniques and that both 46 & 47 would be replaced with implant supported crowns so as the opposing 16 & 17 would not over erupt. In this case we used Atlantis GoldHue Abutments with Lava zirconia crowns. The reason for choosing the GoldHue over the 2 other options of white Titanium or Zirconia was that with the GoldHue we have all the strength of Titanium without the ‘greying’ of the tissue or lava crown that white titanium often gives.
